Vanilla Chai
January 11th, 2007 | by Loretta |Eugene is a hand model. Only on some days.

Emack and Bolio’s is an ice cream chain that I discovered this past summer either by reading an AMNY article on ice cream places in NYC or by using Menupages. I can’t decide, because I can’t remember.
The location I went to happened to be on W Houston, a few blocks west of Broadway. Yes, we spent wandering the streets below Union Square yet again.
Upon first inspection, the Vanilla Chai I ordered (I had no room for their ice cream concoctions, unfortunately) smelled like a vanilla cupcake. In fact, I made the whole gang– Eugene, Viktor and James– smell my chai.
Smell my chai.
For the record, yes they did look at me as if I had multiple heads from my neck.

The chai was probably calorie-laden and made from a pre-mixed powder. It was rich, aromatic and very flavorful. I was in love with the silky texture, though it was rather sweet. For about $4.00 (it might have been $3.69 plus tax for this small cup…) it seemed I paid for inspiration in addition to a tasty cup of creamy, spicy tea.
Emack and Bolio’s is located in a few spots around the city. This particular location is 73 W Houston, between Woorster and La Guardia Place.
