Choco Chai Tea

September 17th, 2006 | by Loretta |

Chai tea seems like too much trouble to make on my own– the combination of spices, the can of condense milk I may have to open and then finding the magical ratio of tea to every-other-ingredient-in-chai.

That’s a bit much for me. And while I’m sure some day after splurging excessively in the spice aisle, I will make my own chai tea, today I decided to make something else out.

Choco Chai Tea

  • 1 c Lipton black tea
  • 1 T hot cocoa mix

It looks like a less creamy cup of Ovaltine. And frankly, I made it because I was tired of drinking green tea, black tea, and everything else I had going on in the kitchen cupboard.

So, presto, try something new.

As for taste, this would be something I would make again– it has a light, semi-bitter taste of chocolate with some milky texture to it thanks to the powdered milk products in the mix. Also, this is super low maintenance, which means it’s time-friendly for a busy schedule.
