Calci-yum…

…would probably be a good name for a children’s calcium supplement or super-fortified food for kids.

Today, for the first time in weeks, I have consciously focused on upping my calcium intake. Before this, I’m sure I’d be luck to have at least 1/3 my calcium requirements.

For those interested in numbers, a woman my age/size needs about 1000 mg of calcium a day. It occurred to me today that the easiest way to figure out how much calcium is in a serving is to look at the nutrition facts and add a zero to the end of x% of calcium listed on it.

I can’t remember the last time I had yogurt, but I figured I should start eating more of it before it expires. So my after-work snack today (no running due to heavy thunderstorms :() was plain yogurt with a drizzle of honey and some pine nuts.

Pine nuts, honey and yogurt.

  • Plain yogurt
  • Honey drizzle
  • Pine nuts

Just another idea of how to eat plain yogurt.
